What it was built for

Enter The Dojo is a pixel-art, turn-based street fighter from independent UK studio Byte Club Games. Instead of fast reflexes, it is won by reading your opponent. Each round you choose three attacks and three blocks, each aimed high, medium or low, and the player who predicts the other best fills the KO meter first.

It is free to play, with no adverts and no pay-to-win, and it is heading to the App Store and Google Play. The website is the front door for all of it.

The brief

A mobile game lives or dies on the first thirty seconds a visitor spends with it. The game had a strong, original idea that is hard to explain in a sentence, and a visual style that deserved to be seen properly. The site had to do the explaining and the selling in one go.

The approach

The design leans fully into the game itself. A deep, dark palette, a red sunburst and the pixel art do the heavy lifting, so the site feels like part of the game rather than a brochure about it.

Content is organised around the questions a new player actually asks: how does it work, what can I play, who can I play as, and where do I get it. Each has its own page, so the site is easy to scan and each page can be found on its own in search.

What it features

Explaining the game

  • A clear homepage pitch, Read your rival. Strike first., supported by a simple how to play walkthrough
  • Game modes page covering single player, two player versus on one device, and online play
  • Fighters and arenas pages showing the full roster of eight fighters and twelve arenas
  • Progression explained clearly, from white belt through to black belt and the Dan grades

Showing it in action

  • A gameplay page with video clips and screenshots, so visitors see the game before they commit
  • Online play page explaining turn-based matches that fit around real life, with friends, leaderboards and monthly mini leagues
  • Store badges ready for launch, clearly marked as coming soon until the game is live

Community and support

  • News page for updates and announcements
  • Support page and a clear route to account deletion, handled as proper pages rather than buried links
  • Links to the game’s Discord, YouTube, TikTok and Reddit communities
  • Privacy information written for players, in plain language

Reach and visibility

  • Ten languages supported in the game, with the site built to present them clearly
  • Unique titles and descriptions for every page, so each one can be found for what it is about
  • Fast loading and mobile-first, because most visitors will arrive from a phone

The result

Enter The Dojo now has a home that looks and feels like the game. A newcomer can understand the idea, see it played and know where to follow it within a minute, and the site is ready to point straight at the app stores the moment the game goes live.

It also gives the studio a base to grow from, with news, support and community links already in place.
